Season 1 - Episode 3: The Lockdown

Ben looked at his dead wife. How had it come this far? What happened that she had to die such a cruel way? He took a shovel from the garden shed, and started digging a hole. At least she deserves a proper burial. Few hours digging later, he dumped her in the hole, and closed the hole back. With some tools Ben made a wooden cross. He carved "Mary Loomland" on the cross, and slammed it next to the hole. He wished she had a better burial, but Ben knew that with this outbreak, there was nobody who could help him right now. He was on his own.

After he made sure that the house was zombie free, Ben began thinking how to fortify his house. His front door was a huge mess, and everyone could peek through the windows. First thing was to make sure that he didnt drew attention to him. Ben got all the bedsheets he could get, and he nailed a bedsheet in front of every window. That would take care of any curious zombies. After putting a small hole in the bedsheets (so Ben could still peek outside) he began thinking about replacing the door. He knew that the neighbours had a pretty sturdy door, but he couldnt get in from the front. Ben got his bat and went to the back door. When he got out, he locked the door and jumped over the fence.

They left their back door open. Luck was on his side, because the keys were also there. Ben pulled the door from his hinges, threw it over the fence, and jumped after it. At least they wont come inside so easely. After installing the door, he had a rather small lunch to preserve food. It seemed that although the zombies had cut down power to the phone, they hadnt cut the power to the electricity, and if he really had to he could also turn on an generator.
